REGULATORY OVERSIGHT TO ENSURE STRICT ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS 

Water Security & Clean Energy with a Minimal Environmental Footprint

To proceed, the Water Security and Gitga’at Hydroelectric project require regulatory oversight and approval. Gitga’at Oceans and Lands Department (GOLD) is leading the way to ensure the highest possible environmental protections are in place.

The Partners of the Water Security and Gitga'at Hydroelectric Project

The Gitga’at Nation has worked with the following organizations to secure both project’s funding  (in no particular order): Infrastructure Canada, Fraser Basin Council, BC Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low-Carbon Innovation, New Relationship Trust (Community Energy Diesel Reduction Program), Indigenous Services Canada and Coastal First Nations. The Nation acknowledges their contribution and thanks them for helping to make this clean energy vision a reality.
